REFLECTION ON THE JIRITSU PROJECT. At first, i was quite shocked and surprised that i will be communicating with the Japanese students. What's even more weird is that instead of chatting and talking using E- MAIL or MSN , we were going to interact through blogs! I did not understand much until my EL teacher elaborated more on the project. We were supposed to write about the happenings in our life, especially our future careers, introducing ourselves at the same time. The japanese students will then leave their comments on our blogs, and we would also do the same.I found this project quite interesting and informative, as i got to interact with others, and also find out what life is like in japan.I also got to practise my writing skills. However, the japanese were not exactly very easy to communicate with,as they were not very good in english, and at times i could hardly understand what they were trying to say, some were really very amusing. Their blogs did not have tagboards, and it was difficult trying to find the comments section.Overall, i enjoyed parts of the project, but i think that there's room for improvement.Although it was initialy quite interesting and informative, as time passed, it started to get boring. The japanese were also very difficult to communicate with. However, there were some good points too. I learnt how to create my own blog, and i got to practise my writing skills. So, in conclusion, i'll say that i enjoyed most of this project, and that it was quite a great experience for me.

THIS IS MY TYPED REPORT ON MY AMBITION TO BE A COMIC WRITER. My ambition is to be a Comic Writer. I choose this job because of many reasons. Firstly, I like drawing, and creating my own unique drawing styles. It is very fun and interesting, and also very challenging as I have to think of how to draw the characters, what personalities I should give them, what the plot and story of the comic should be, how the characters face the complications, and I also have to successfully end the comic with an appropriate ending, and maybe also spread a message to the reader. It is very fun and interesting, in that I can do and draw anything I want, as the possibilities are infinite. I can even think of the most ridiculous and strange plots and characters, and I can apply all sorts of ideas into my comics. I would also be able to tell a captivating story through the comic, be it a Romance, Action, Crime, Comedy, Tragedy or even a War comic, I can also give my ideas and elaborate on these issues inside my comics. Secondly, drawing comics helps me unwind myself, if I feel stressed, or have problems and troubles. I can put all my feelings, thoughts and emotions into my comics, and maybe also use a character to represent myself, and from there, try to create an ending and solution for the problem. Lastly, this job is quite relaxing, as I only need to draw, but I have to have a very bright, clear, creative and imaginative mind to think about the story, the characters, and what they should say, to ultimately make up the comic. It is also very relaxing, as I can be my own boss, and no one can order me and tell me what to do, but I still have to be responsible, and draw properly, observing and meeting all the datelines, as there may be a lot of people waiting for the next issue of my comics, and delaying the release may make them unhappy, and the consequences will not be good. So, to be a good comic writer iThere is not much of an origin for a Comic Writers, but I think that comics might have originated from drawings and stories, as if you put both together, you get a comic. Comics must have first appeared as small articles in newspapers and magazines, to make it more lively, and reading them more interesting. Slowly but surely as the demand for comics got more and more, writers started producing official comic books, which is an entire book full of comics and stories. There have been many successful comic books, for example: “Spiderman”, “Batman”, “Superman”, “Justice League”, “The Simpsons” and the “Incredible Hulk”. These are examples of comics which are drawn and published in America, which apparently focus more on superheroes, action, righteousness, and humor. There is also another type of comics in Asia, from Japan, called “Manga”. Manga characters look very real. Japanese Manga artists draw their characters to look realistic and even small features like hair or shadows are drawn to perfection. However, some Manga artists tend to be more exaggerated in drawing features of their characters. Modern day Japanese Manga is very popular, examples are comics like “Death Note”, “One Piece”, “Naruto” and “Pokemon”. Some very popular Japanese or American comics have been made into movies, like “Death Note”, “Spiderman”, “Superman Returns” and “Pokeman:The Movie”. Nowadays, comics are also used in Science to spread a message, and even advertisements. An example of comics in Singapore used to spread a message are those posters in public toilets, which show the consequences of dirtying the toilets, and encouraging Singaporeans to keep the toilets clean. So, comics can be found almost everywhere, and from the looks of it, are fast gaining popularity all around the world. To be a comic writer, I have to have a passion for drawing, and like comics very much. I must be highly imaginative and also be creative in my comics and stories sequences. I will need to be very good in my art, as drawing is the basic component of a comic, and also be very good and fluent in my English Language, as I will need English to tell the story. I must also practice and improve my skills for drawing regularly, and keep improving my comics so that they will look better and more professional. To achieve my dream, I first have to work hard and do well in my “O” Levels. After that, I can go to the Polytechnic, which will offer a lot of useful courses on drawings, arts and comic skills, which I can take, to improve my comic drawing skills, and this will be a major stepping stone towards realizing my dreams. After that, if I can, I will go to the University, where there will be professional art and design courses that I can take, to master the art of comic drawing. After that, I will practice and draw until I am good enough, and then I can finally create my own comic series. I will try and get a publisher to publish my comics. If I am successful and a lot of people like my style of drawing and stories, I will include my comic drawings for more purposes such as for posters, newspapers and advertisements. With increased popularity and sufficient funds through supports and sponsors from recognized establishments, I will venture overseas ultimately. In this way, I can interact with other comic writers, thus exposing myself to other available sources, and widening my knowledge and skills at the same time. Eventually, I will have my own Fan Club to support and encourage me, thus boosting my morale. In conclusion, I think that being a comic writer is a very fun, interesting and challenging job, but I have to put in a lot of hard work and efforts to improve my skills, and also must practise regularly. I have to constantly think of new ideas, characters and story lines, but at the same time, think of ways to improve my skills. I need to do research in order to upgrade my skills and understand market demands and expectations in the near future. Being a comic writer is also quite a difficult job, as it is very demanding in nature with deadlines and expectations to be met. So, I cannot afford to relax all the times, and when work has to be done, I have to do it seriously. As to whether the job is relevant in the near future, the outlook is positive as nowadays, comics are more popular, and countries all over the world are producing their own comics. So, I think that being a comic writer will be a wise choice. However, if unfortunately comics decline in popularity in the future, I will still persevere and try my best to cope with the situation. Still, if I have a chance to be a comic writer in the future, I will definitely grab the opportunity and fulfill my dreams.

POST NUMBER THREE FOR THE HOLIDAYS!!!!! Hello! it's me again! Well, this entire week, nothing much really happened... i think. On monday, i went to my friend yu feng's house. there, we did our english homework, the comprehensionsion passages, to be exact.later, i went to the amk central arcade to play a few games. I also played my favourite game, "GHOST SQUAD" , and waws promoted to the rank of general! yeah! the next day, i went out with yufeng. we took a bus to novena, to visit the sports mall there, velocity. It was very boring there, and we had nothing to see. So, we went to united square for fun.... it was even more boring there! That place sold almost all children' stuff, it was also very boring there. My friend yufeng was very lame and went to the toys r us to see his dumb gundam model kits. next, we took the mrt to city hall, and from there went to suntec city mall. i went there as i had to buy a new bag, my school bag was already spoiled! For lunch, yu feng and i went tothe macdonalds there andeat. Yu feng, who was not supposed to eat beef ,went against his religion, and ordered a double cheese burger!!! We went to the arcade there, and i played ghost squad again.later, for dinner, he ate another double cheese burger!! then, i went to the nike shop there to buy my bag, and then we took the bus home... throughout the entire journey, yufeng was crazy about beef, and kept saying "EAT BEEF"!!! after that, we went to the "pasar malan" at amk.... and i was so unlucky, i dropped my wallet in the mud! After that, i went home..... i asked kenneth about the 3e2 chalet, and he asked me wheter i wanted to go or not. after much thought, i decided not to, as it was too rushed... the chalet was on the next day!!! I am happy that i made the right decision, as i came to know later that their chalet was quite a disaster!!! outsiders infiltrated the chalet, kenneth lost his handphonee, and according to him, their chalet was also HAUNTED!!!!! spooky!! so, in conclusion, i'm glad that i did not go for the 3e2 chalet!!! yeah!!

POST NUMBER TWO FOR THE HOLIDAYS!!!!Hello! it's me again! The 2e3 chalet and bbq is just over, and boy, did i enjoy myself! It relly was very fun and memorable, although there were faults here and there, but still, everyone enjoyed it........ or almost everyone. On the first day, my friends yufeng and chia hao went to my place with the bbq food., we were having a bbq on the 2nd night of the chalet, you see. next, we took my father's taxi and fetched my other friend, kian en, who had all the frozen foods with him. we then went to down town east, which is where our chalet is located at. My father and i went to check in, but were told that we could only check in after 2.30pm....... so mwe spent the time by taking turns going to the arcade there. soon, we met our friend adrian, and checked in. we spent the rest of the day playing, however, yufeng and i were "conned" at the food court.... haha. we bought some expensive western food, only to find it very unpleasant, and also with very little portions. At night, we played the xbox there, the game i brought, 'halo 2" was very interesting andf exciting. All in all, me and chia hao were the best players, and we ruled the game often. yu feng and adrian were the lousiest, but were actually not bad for new comers. Kian en started out as weak as them, but soon started thrashing yu feng like crazy! any way, we had lots of fun. the next day, we spent the morning playing xbox, then we went to the food court for lunch. Both adrian and i were eating curry rice, me japanese curry and he indian curry. chai hao, who was very broke but extremely hungry, repeatedly begged us for scraps of food!later, in the late afternoon, chia hao and i went to start the fire for the bbq, and soon, it was in full swing! later, the others visited our chalet for a while, before going home. we also bid farewell to chia hao, who also left. so, adrian , yu feng, kian en and i spent thenight playing xbox. the next morning, we woke up early and ate instant noodles. soon, we checked out and went home. It sure was a great experience fore me!!!!!1=D

POST NUMBER ONE FOR THE HOLIDAYS!Hello! It's me again. It sure has been a long time! The holidays have started, and i have already recieved my results. I got a 3/33 for my class position, and 15/89 for level position...... quite good, i think, and a large major improvement from last year...... however, i must continue to work very hard on my weak subjects like maths and chinese. I can also improve in my chemistry! My holidays so far have been very busy, with all those maths trainings, they are so boring! Then, i will have POA star programme on friday, and for the last week, have more maths trainings! It's all because of that stupid maths new south wales competition. I also have two more days of F&N star programme on the last week of holidays...... so stressful! What's more stressful is that i have a lot of english homeworks to do, including this blog entry!!! Howevr, i have to do the work, as it enables me to practice my english skills.BUT, i have reason to rejoice, as i am rather free on the 2nd and 3rd weeks of the holidays..... YEAH!!! pongal o pongal! The chalet and bbq i have organised for my last year class, 2e3, will be on the second week, while my PATHETIC, CRAPPY, USELESS, POINTLESS, BORING AND ULTIMATELY DISASTROUS class chalet will be on the third week..... hahaha..... the 3e2 chalet is going to be a flop, man..... i just know it. AND, of course, i'm CERTAINLY not going...... hahaha......KENNETH and the others have been too RASH and IMPULSIVE when they wanted to organise a chalet...... now, ONLY LESS THAN HALF THE CLASS WILL BE GOING, and THEY HAVE YET TO COLLECT A SINGLE CENT FOR THE BBQ FOOD AND CHALET! hahaha! i really can't imagine how they organise a chalet an bbq like that. I actually can't blame kenneth, it was not his idea, but he was FORCED to pay first...... and now have not collected a single cent! What's more, it's not his money, but his MOTHER'S MONEY!!!! poor kenneth, i don't know how he is going to collect all the money, but i will wish him luck, anyway. Besides, i;m REALLY looking foward to the my 2E3 chalet, so what if only half of the 28 people are going? I'll still have a lot of fun with MY BEST FRIENDS WHICH I HAVE BEEN WITH FOR 2 YEARS, rather than go to some dumb 3e2 chalet, where there is still no BOND yet..... besides, my friend PANIRSELVAM is not going, neither are CLIFFORD AND MELVIN..... so, go for what? point less right? RIGHT! so, meanwhile waiting for my 2e3 chalet to come, i will "CHEONG" my english homework, HAHAHA!!!! 5 more days to 2e3 chalet, really LOOKING FOWARD TO IT!!!!!=D

HELLO, HERE TO POST AGAIN! Just yesterday my entire class went to the career fair at suntec city .The objective of going there was for us to find the information, qualifications and experience needed for us to succeed in our ideal jobs. It was very crowded there, as thousands of students from various schools also went there. However, I found the place rather boring and monotonous. The fair was meant for POLYTECHNIC and JUNIOR COLLEGE students, and i hardly understood anything written or said there, and almost none of the exhibits had information on what i wanted to be, a comic writer. What's more, I could only find one booth on being a chef and cooking, but all the information there was either useless , non -applicable or not relevant. To me, i think that the fair was very irrelevant and boring, and I could hardly find much information and had to find it myself. Although I enjoyed the company of my friends there, and admired the warm service of the promoters there, i still thought that the visit to the fair was quite pointless and that I learnt almost nothing from it.I think the information provided there would have had been more useful to us if we were polytechnic or junior college students, as the booths were all on universities, and we, are still secondary school students. However, I still think that it will be useful for me to plan for my own future first, and so I can be better prepared in the future. BYE BYE! =)
